Welcome to Linden Elementary!

Linden Elementary - where our Linden Leader are “One of a Kind.”

I am honored to begin a new year at Linden Elementary and our Lower Elementary Campus.  My mission is to create a building atmosphere that encourages each child to develop a life time love for learning, and promote academic and social development for all students.  I believe Linden Elementary is just that place.

Linden Elementary is an exceptional school with supportive and dedicated staff serving 388 students in Young Fives through 3rd grade.  Our staff strives to ensure all students reach their full potential academically and socially by following our core curriculum.  In addition, our school offers math and reading support (including Reading Recovery and Math Recovery), social emotional programs, speech and language support, instructional support services, as well as specials programs: art, music, and physical education.   Students will also engage in technology on a daily basis either in the computer lab or in their classroom, and will also explore and check out books weekly from our library.

In addition to being a “Linden Leader,” students are learning to be positive roles models through our schoolwide Positive Behavior Intervention Support or PBIS.   This proactive program encourages three simple rules; Bee Responsible, Bee Respectful and Bee Safe.  Not only do these basic foundational rules help foster a positive school environment, but encourages positive decision making, responsibility, and respect for others.  Positive behavior supports are used throughout our school including; classroom, hallways, cafeteria, recess, bus, and restroom.

Parents/guardians are always welcome at our school.  We view our parents/guardians as equal partners in providing our children with meaningful educational experiences.  We encourage you to become active participants in school programs and classroom activities. There are many ways to support your child, such as volunteering to help in the classroom, volunteering for the Parents Active in Linden Schools (PALS) or attending one of our many school programs.  Just as important as volunteering is a nightly routine of reading to your child, talking about their day, helping them with homework and preparing them for the next day of school.

I am very excited and privileged to work with our Linden Elementary family!  I encourage you to get involved as we work together developing our young children.  Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have a suggestion or concern.  I can be reached at 810-591-9130 or vmakarav@lindenschools.org

Your partner in education,
